Perfect Soft and Fluffy Dinner Rolls

Instructions
- Heat the milk until steaming and tiny bubbles form around the edges.
- Pour the milk into a stand mixer bowl and add water, butter, and sugar. Let cool until warm.
- Stir in the yeast and let rest for 5-7 minutes until foamy.
- Add the egg, salt, and flour, starting with 3 ¾ to 4 cups, and mix until the dough forms a soft, sticky ball.
- Knead the dough for 5-6 minutes until soft and smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm spot until doubled, about an hour.
- Grease a 9x13-inch pan and punch down the dough. Divide into 12 equal pieces and roll into balls.
- Place the dough balls in the prepared pan, spacing them apart, and cover to rise until doubled.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Butter the tops of the rolls immediately after baking.
