Ingredients

The nuts

  • 3 cups pecans (or nuts of your choice — almonds or cashews)

BBQ Rub Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon smoked sugar OR brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • tablespoons smoked sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon smoked coarsely ground black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon ground coriander
  • ½ tablespoon chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Soak the nuts in water for 10 minutes, then remove and pat dry.
  2. Combine the rub ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Toss the nuts in the rub to coat them evenly.
  4. Place the nuts on a frog mat and smoke for 45 minutes at 250 degrees.
