Ingredients

Dough

  • cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Filling

  • cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter

Frosting

  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Proof the yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar for 10-15 minutes until foamy.
  2. 2. Mix the dough ingredients in a bowl until a sticky dough forms, then knead until smooth.
  3. 3. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. 4. Roll out the dough, spread with butter and cinnamon sugar, then roll tightly and slice into quarters.
  5. 5. Allow the rolls to rise again for 45 minutes to 1 hour until fluffy.
  6. 6. Bake the rolls at 375°F for 15-22 minutes until golden, then frost with cream cheese frosting.
