Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 320°F.
- Grease a 10-inch springform pan with butter and dust with flour.
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples, then toss them with lemon juice and let sit.
- In a small bowl, mix flour and baking powder; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together softened butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and mix to combine; then incorporate the flour mixture and milk until fully combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a small pan, warm butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until the sugar dissolves, then set aside.
- Drain lemon juice from apples and arrange them on top of the batter, pressing gently.
- Drizzle the melted butter mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before removing from the pan.
- Sprinkle with icing sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream.
