Ingredients

The cauliflower

  • 2 cups small cauliflower florets

The coating

  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • teaspoons smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • heaping ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 large egg

For cooking

  • extra-virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • lemon wedges for serving
  • tartar sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Mix the panko, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and salt on a rimmed tray.
  2. In a small bowl, lightly beat the egg.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F.
  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the egg, coat with the panko mixture, and place on a plate.
  5. Drizzle the cauliflower with olive oil and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry for 9 to 12 minutes until golden brown and crisp, working in batches if necessary.
  7. Season to taste and serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.
