Fried Pork Chops

Ingredients

The pork chops

  • 4 pieces pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 3 pieces eggs
  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional garnish)

The gravy

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk eggs with water in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Coat each pork chop in the flour mixture, dip in the egg, and coat again in the flour.
  4. Heat oil in a large pan to 350°F.
  5. Fry pork chops for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. For the gravy, melt butter in a small pan, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Add milk to the butter mixture, bring to a simmer, and cook until thickened.
  8. Season gravy with salt and pepper, spoon over pork chops, and garnish with parsley before serving.
