Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • cup coconut oil, melted
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups white whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas and mix in the coconut oil, applesauce, honey, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the white whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt to the mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the bread sit for 5 minutes before serving.
