Instructions
- Wash and parboil the Swiss chard, then separate the stems and leaves.
- Mix salt, soy sauce, vinegar, mirin, sugar, and Konbu in a plastic bag with the Swiss chard.
- Rub the mixture onto the Swiss chard and let it pickle for at least 7-8 hours or overnight.
- Cook the rice according to your rice cooker instructions and let it cool.
- Chop the pickled Swiss chard stems finely and mix them with the cooked rice and sesame seeds.
- Form the mixture into 6 rice balls and wrap them with the pickled Swiss chard leaves.
- Brush the wrapped rice balls with a mixture of soy sauce and sesame oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
