Easy Slow Cooker Cheesy Grits

Heavy Cream (or half and half) plus more if needed

Kosher Salt (or 1 teaspoon table salt) or to taste

Stone Ground Grits, yellow or white (or other Long Cooking Grits) uncooked
The cheese

Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Add the water, heavy cream, butter, and salt to the slow cooker and stir.
- Add the grits and stir well.
- Cover and cook on High for 3-4 hours, stirring once after 1.5 hours and again at 2.5 hours.
- Check for doneness and add more cream or milk if the mixture is too thick.
- About 10 minutes before serving, stir in the shredded cheese and adjust the salt if needed.
- Serve hot.
