Creamy Loaded Cheese Grits

Instructions
- Combine water, half and half, salt, and pepper in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Slowly whisk in the grits while continuously stirring to prevent splattering.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, whisking frequently.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
- Add the cubed butter and stir until smooth.
- Mix in the bacon and optional green onions.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional green onions or cheese if desired.
