Ingredients

  • ¾ cup coconut or cane or brown sugar
  • 1 cup full fat coconut milk
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse sea salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a pot over medium-high heat and add the sugar, stirring for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the coconut milk and sea salt, stirring to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer the caramel sauce to a jar, cover it, and refrigerate for at least two hours before using.
