Bread Machine Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup milk or buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Filling

  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add water, milk, honey, flour, yeast, and salt to the bread machine and select the dough cycle.
  2. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
  3. Flour a pastry mat and place the dough on it, dusting with more flour.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball and roll it into an 8 x 16 inch rectangle.
  5. Beat the egg and water, then brush the dough with the egg wash.
  6. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough from the short side and pinch the ends together, tucking them under.
  8. Transfer the loaf to the prepared pan and allow it to rise for 45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  10. Brush the top of the dough with the remaining egg wash and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  11. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool before slicing.
