Flank Steak Marinade

Ingredients

The marinade

  • ¾ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, chopped

The steak

  • pounds flank steak

Instructions

  1. Combine all marinade ingredients in a resealable bag and shake to mix.
  2. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the marinade for later use.
  3. Stir in the chopped garlic into the marinade.
  4. Add the flank steak to the marinade and let it marinate for 2 to 24 hours.
  5. Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the steak for 5-6 minutes on each side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  7. Remove the steak from the grill, cover with foil, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  8. Slice the steak thinly against the grain and drizzle with reserved marinade before serving.
