Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat together the sugar and avocado oil until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Scoop out dough using a medium cookie scoop and roll in powdered sugar.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet, spaced about 4 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until they appear crackly and puffed.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
