The Tomato Sauce

Instructions
- Mix all meatball ingredients in a large bowl until well combined without overmixing.
- Use a disher to portion out the meatballs and roll them smooth.
- Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and fry the meatballs in batches until browned.
- Transfer fried meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Blend the drained tomatoes and water until smooth.
- In the same skillet, heat olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add the blended tomato mixture, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, and kosher salt, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1-2 minutes before stirring in chopped basil and meatballs.
- Serve warm over noodles or on their own.
