Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the Oreo crust by crushing the cookies and mixing with melted butter, then press into a pie dish and bake.
- Melt the unsweetened chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl.
- Prepare the meringue by heating egg whites, sugar, and cream of tartar over simmering water until the sugar dissolves, then whip until soft peaks form.
- Fold the meringue into the melted chocolate mixture.
- Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold into the chocolate mixture carefully.
- Spread half of the mousse into the cooled crust, add crushed Oreos, then top with the remaining mousse, shaping it into a dome.
- Make the whipped cream topping by whipping cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form, then spread over the mousse.
- Chill the pie for several hours before serving.
