Ingredients

The nuts

  • 2 cups pecan halves

The coating

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, cloves, and water in a large saucepan.
  3. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar melts.
  4. Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture reaches 232 degrees F (soft ball stage).
  5. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the pecans.
  6. Spread the pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and allow to cool.
