Ingredients

The nuts

  • 8 ounces pecan halves

The coating

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white with water until frothy.
  4. Add the pecans to the egg white mixture and toss to coat.
  5. Stir in the cinnamon sugar mixture until the pecans are well coated.
  6. Spread the pecans in a single layer on the prepared sheet pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the coating is hardened and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
