Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, buttermilk (or sour cream), and mashed bananas.
- Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop half of the batter into another bowl and mix in the cocoa powder.
- Spread the chocolate batter in the prepared pan.
- Dollop the banana batter over the chocolate layer and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until puffed and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
