Ingredients

The scallops

  • 1 lb scallops
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper

The sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry the scallops, then season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Mix honey, water, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the scallops until browned, then set aside.
  4. Clean the skillet, return it to medium heat, and melt the butter until it foams and turns golden brown.
  5. Add minced garlic and sauté until brown.
  6. Pour the honey garlic mixture into the skillet and let it thicken.
  7. Return the scallops to the skillet, turn off the heat, and stir to combine with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
