Ingredients

  • 1 unit Portobello mushroom
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 1-1 ½ teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the mushroom into thin slices, no thicker than ¼ inch.
  3. Mix maple syrup, liquid smoke, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a bowl.
  4. Coat the mushroom slices with the mixture on both sides.
  5. Arrange the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the slices over.
  7. Bake for another 10-20 minutes, checking every 5 minutes for desired crispiness.
  8. Serve in various dishes or as a snack.
