Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 fillets salmon, skin removed (about 2 lbs total)

The marinade

  • cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds (1 Tablespoon per salmon fillet)

Optional garnish

  • to taste chopped scallion

Instructions

  1. Marinate the salmon fillets in a mixture of maple syrup, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  3. Place the marinated salmon on the baking sheet and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  4. Bake the salmon for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Reduce the leftover marinade in a saucepan to create a glaze.
  6. Serve the salmon with the thickened glaze and garnish with scallions.
