Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup chunky peanut butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

The chips

  • ½ cup peanut butter chips
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For sprinkling

  • to taste granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and peanut butter until fluffy.
  4. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and beat until smooth.
  5. Mix in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat thoroughly.
  7. Stir in the peanut butter chips and chocolate chips.
  8. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Use a fork to create a crisscross pattern on the cookies.
  10. Lightly sprinkle the cookies with sugar.
  11. Bake for 10-11 minutes, being careful not to overbake.
  12. Let the cookies cool on the sheets for about 3 minutes before transferring to a rack.
