Ingredients

The bars

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
  • teaspoons pure vanilla extract

The cream cheese frosting

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • teaspoon salt
  • to taste none sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a 10×15-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients until combined.
  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures until fully incorporated.
  5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 28-35 minutes.
  6. Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Prepare the frosting by beating the cream cheese and butter until smooth, then add the remaining ingredients.
  8. Spread the frosting over the cooled bars and refrigerate to set before slicing.
