Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, oil, pumpkin, and vanilla until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 25-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the bars cool completely in the pan.
  7. For the frosting, mix cream cheese and butter until smooth, then add powdered sugar, sour cream, and vanilla.
  8. Whip the frosting until light and fluffy, then spread it over the cooled bars.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.
