- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions and keep it cool in the fridge until ready to use.
- Spread ½ cup of sugar on the work surface, matching the size of the pastry, and place one puff pastry sheet on top.
- Spread another ½ cup of sugar on top of the pastry and gently spread it around.
- Use a rolling pin to roll the pastry slightly, ensuring it remains thick but extended.
- Fold the right side of the pastry to the center, then the left side, sprinkling more sugar on top.
- Repeat the folding process one more time and sprinkle with sugar again.
- Fold both sides together, like closing a book, and slice into 3/8-inch thick pieces.
- Place the slices on the baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway if desired, until lightly golden.
- Cool completely before serving.
