Ingredients

The oatmeal

  • 1 cup rolled Quaker oats

The caramelized bananas

  • 3 pieces bananas, sliced into rounds
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup real maple syrup
  • a sprinkle cinnamon
  • a dash vanilla
  • to taste sea salt
  • to taste chocolate chips
  • to taste other desired toppings

Instructions

  1. Cook the oatmeal as per package directions, using milk for creaminess if desired.
  2. In a skillet, heat the coconut oil over medium heat, then add maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla, allowing it to bubble.
  3. Add the banana slices to the skillet and simmer until they are soft and plump.
  4. Remove from heat, stir half of the bananas into the oatmeal, and reserve the rest for topping.
  5. Add any additional toppings and serve.
