Ingredients

Dough

  • cup all-purpose flour
  • cup water
  • teaspoon active dry yeast
  • teaspoon sugar
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Filling

  • 2 cup shredded cheese blend
  • ¼ cup Gorgonzola cheese crumbles or Bleu Cheese (optional)
  • ½ cup Pizza sauce
  • 1 large egg (lightly beaten)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing warm water, yeast, and sugar, and let it sit until creamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in another bowl, then combine with the yeast mixture and knead until a ball forms.
  3. Let the dough rest covered for 5 minutes, then knead again until the right consistency is achieved.
  4. Oil a bowl, place the dough inside, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 40 minutes).
  5. Divide the dough, let each piece rise again until doubled (about 2 hours).
  6. Roll out one piece of dough into a rectangle, spread pizza sauce, and sprinkle cheese on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from the long side and seal the edges with water.
  8. Brush the roll with beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing and serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
