Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Soften the butter in the microwave and mix with the sugars until creamed.
- Add vanilla, maple syrup, and eggs, mixing until smooth.
- Incorporate flour, baking soda, and salt until a smooth dough forms.
- Stir in chocolate chips and chunks.
- Melt caramel pieces with heavy cream in the microwave until smooth.
- Press half of the dough into a cast iron skillet lined with parchment paper.
- Pour the caramel over the dough and cover with the remaining dough.
- Bake for 15-25 minutes, then sprinkle with sea salt.
- Allow to rest for at least one hour before serving.
