Ingredients

The meatballs

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 3-4 Tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

The flavorings

  • 1/4 cup very finely chopped yellow onion
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

The sauce

  • 1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F and prepare a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine bread crumbs with 3 Tbsp of milk and let it rest.
  3. Add parmesan, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, and oregano to the bread crumb mixture.
  4. Incorporate ground turkey, salt, pepper, and egg yolk into the mixture and blend well.
  5. Divide the mixture into 16 equal portions and roll them into balls.
  6. Place the meatballs on the baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes, then turn the meatballs and bake for an additional 5 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Meanwhile, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan.
  9. Toss the cooked meatballs with the marinara sauce and serve with additional herbs and parmesan if desired.
