Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 2. Make a well in the center and pour in the wet ingredients: milk, egg, and melted butter; mix until smooth.
- 3. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- 4. Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat, greasing if desired.
- 5. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately ¼ cup for each pancake.
- 6. When bubbles start to form on the first side, carefully flip and brown the second side.
- 7. Repeat with remaining batter until you have about 8 pancakes.
- 8. Serve hot with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.
