The garlic

  • 1 head garlic

The oil

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Slice off about ¼-inch of the top of each garlic head to expose the cloves.
  3. Place the garlic in an oven-safe saucepan or skillet and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Cover the pan and bake for 40 to 70 minutes, checking every 10 minutes after 40 minutes.
  5. Let the garlic cool for about 10 minutes before handling.
  6. Use the roasted garlic immediately or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
