- Fill a large pot about 3/4 full with water and bring it to a rolling boil.
- Carefully slip the eggs into the boiling water using a slotted spoon.
- Maintain a gentle boil and set a timer for 12 minutes for hard-cooked yolks, or 10 minutes for softer yolks.
- While the eggs are boiling, prepare an ice bath in a medium bowl with ice and water.
- Once the timer goes off, transfer the eggs immediately to the ice bath and let them sit for 10 minutes.
- After cooling, the eggs are ready to be peeled or stored in the refrigerator.
