Baked Apples and Pears with Thyme and Maple

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Heat oil in a Dutch oven or oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
- Spread apples and pears in a single layer, flesh-side down, and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in maple syrup, ginger, cinnamon, thyme, and salt.
- Cover and transfer to the oven.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, until the fruit is tender and aromatic.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional thyme if desired.
