Ingredients

The almonds

  • 1 ½ cups raw almonds

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon coconut aminos or soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together liquid smoke, olive oil, coconut aminos, and maple syrup.
  3. Toss the almonds in the liquid mixture until well coated.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
  5. Remove the almonds from the liquid mixture and toss them in the dry seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the almonds in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8 minutes, stir, then bake for an additional 8 minutes.
