Ingredients

The burgers

  • 2.5 lb ground white turkey
  • 1 T cumin
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste salt & pepper
  • 1 egg

The roasted peppers

  • 3 red peppers
  • 2 poblano peppers

The assembly

  • to taste hamburger buns
  • 1 slice goat cheese (optional)
  • to taste avocado (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion, cilantro, and garlic cloves.
  2. Combine these ingredients with the ground turkey in a bowl.
  3. Mix well and add the egg, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Form the mixture into 1/4 lb burgers and set aside.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and season the red and poblano peppers with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Grill the peppers, turning occasionally until charred (about 5-7 minutes).
  7. Remove the peppers and let them sit, then grill the burger patties for 5-6 minutes per side.
  8. Once the burgers are done, set them aside and deseed and julienne the roasted peppers.
  9. Assemble the burgers with the toasted buns, turkey patties, roasted peppers, goat cheese, and avocado.
