Instructions
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- In a stand mixer, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing until combined, then add vanilla and mix.
- Gradually add the flour mixture on low speed until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chunks and walnuts.
- Shape the dough into balls and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F during the last 15 minutes of chilling.
- Transfer dough balls to lined baking sheets and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Bake for 11-12 minutes, ensuring the cookies look slightly under-baked in the center.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
