Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups flour

Filling

  • 2 ½ to 3 cups pizza sauce
  • 2 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni, chopped
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup cornmeal
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, combine warm water, honey, olive oil, yeast, salt, and 1 cup of flour.
  3. Add more flour until the dough forms a soft ball, knead for 3-4 minutes, then let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough in half and roll one half into a thin rectangle.
  5. Spread pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni on the dough, then roll it up and seal the seam.
  6. Cut the roll into 1-inch sections and dip the bottoms in cornmeal before placing them on the baking sheet.
  7. Repeat with the second half of the dough, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and serve with warm pizza sauce.
