Instructions
- Combine warm milk, yeast, and brown sugar in a stand mixer and let sit until bubbly.
- Add Crisco®, egg, 1 cup of flour, and baking powder; mix until incorporated.
- Add remaining flour and salt, mixing until the dough is smooth and slightly tacky.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
- Butter a small baking dish.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread butter over it, then sprinkle with apple and cinnamon mixture.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into four equal rolls.
- Place rolls in the baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, make the icing by mixing butter and cream cheese, then adding maple syrup, powdered sugar, and pecans.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and let sit for five minutes before serving.
