Ingredients

The tomatoes

  • 6 pieces firm roma tomatoes

The seasoning

  • to taste sea salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper
  • for drizzling and brushing ml extra-virgin olive oil

For serving

  • to taste Italian dressing
  • optional freshly grated Parmesan cheese or Vegan Parmesan
  • for garnish fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Slice the tomatoes in half lengthwise and drizzle the cut sides with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat, brushing it with olive oil.
  3. Place the tomatoes on the grill, cut side down, and grill for 4 to 6 minutes until grill marks form.
  4. Flip the tomatoes and grill for another 3 to 4 minutes until tender but not collapsing.
  5. Transfer the tomatoes to a serving platter, season with salt and pepper, drizzle with Italian dressing, and top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.
