Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Sift flour and salt into a food processor, add shortening, and pulse until the mixture resembles small peas.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cold water over the mixture and pulse again; repeat until the mixture holds together.
- Divide the dough into two balls and flatten one on a floured surface, rolling it out to 1/8-inch thick.
- Fit the rolled dough into a pie plate, trim the edges, and flute the edge.
- Prick the bottom and sides with a fork and bake until golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
