Chocolate Vegan Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • pinch salt (optional)
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons water (if needed for blending)

Instructions

  1. Melt the coconut cream until it's liquid, using a double boiler or microwave.
  2. Combine the melted coconut cream, dates, cacao powder, vanilla, and salt in a blender or food processor.
  3. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  4. Add water if needed to help blend and achieve desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired by adding maple syrup.
  6. Transfer the frosting to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set.
