Chocolate Date Frosting

Ingredients

  • cup pitted dates
  • ¾ cup plain cashews
  • cup coconut milk
  • tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • tbsp arrowroot flour
  • cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Soak the pitted dates overnight if they are dry.
  2. Add the soaked dates and cashews to a food processor and begin to puree.
  3. Gradually add the coconut milk while pureeing until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add sea salt, vanilla extract, arrowroot flour, liquified coconut oil, and cocoa powder.
  5. Puree until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
  6. Taste and add more cocoa if necessary.
  7. Freeze the frosting for about 30 minutes or refrigerate until cool.
