Sweet Chili Shrimp

Ingredients

The shrimp

  • 10 oz shelled and deveined shrimp, tail-on
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro or parsley leaves, for garnishing

The sauce

  • 3 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce, Rooster brand
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry, then season with salt and black pepper.
  2. 2. Heat a skillet and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Pan-sear the shrimp on both sides until slightly browned, then remove from the skillet.
  3. 3. Clean the skillet if desired, then reheat with the remaining oil. Sauté the garlic until aromatic and slightly browned.
  4. 4. Add the shrimp back to the skillet along with the sauce and stir to combine well.
  5. 5. Garnish with cilantro or parsley leaves and serve immediately.
