Ingredients

The shrimp

  • 1.5 lbs XL/Jumbo uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined

The marinade

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

For serving

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons fresh green onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 squeeze fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine the shrimp with olive oil, sugar, and minced garlic in a bowl and let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Place the marinated shrimp in a cold skillet and turn the heat to high, cooking for 4 minutes.
  3. Flip the shrimp and let them cook for an additional 2 minutes until fully cooked.
  4. Remove the shrimp and add granulated garlic, ginger, and salt to the skillet, toasting for about 2 minutes.
  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet, toss with the toasted spices, chili sauce, and soy sauce.
  6. Serve the shrimp topped with cilantro, green onions, sesame seeds, and a squeeze of lime.
