Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • cup mini milk chocolate chips
  • cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixer for 2 minutes.
  3. Scrape down the bowl and mix for an additional 2 minutes until creamy.
  4. Add the egg and mix until incorporated, then add salt, maple syrup, and vanilla.
  5. Mix in flour, baking soda, and cornstarch on low speed, then fold in chocolate chips and chunks.
  6. Form the dough into 2-ounce balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Freeze the dough balls for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes until edges are lightly browned, then cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
