Perfect Roasted Asparagus

Basic roasted asparagus

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Snap off the woody ends of the asparagus and discard them.
- Place the asparagus on the sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat.
- Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on the pan.
- Bake until the asparagus is easily pierced with a fork, about 9 to 12 minutes for thin asparagus and 15 to 20 minutes for thicker ones.
- Transfer to a serving platter and season as desired with lemon juice, Parmesan, butter, or balsamic vinegar.
- Serve immediately or store at room temperature for up to 1 hour or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
