Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
- Add ground chuck and brown it, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, basil, oregano, and thyme, cooking for 2 minutes.
- Mix in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, beer, and tomato paste.
- Simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally for about 1 hour 15 minutes.
- Add prepared chili beans and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
