Ingredients

The dough

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 25 g active dry yeast
  • cup warm water
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • tablespoons sugar
  • 2 units eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

Filling

  • 4 tablespoons butter

Topping

  • tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to the flour mixture.
  3. Add eggs and warm milk, then mix everything together.
  4. Incorporate softened butter and knead until the dough is smooth.
  5. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal parts, forming each into a ball.
  7. Roll each ball into a round shape of 16 to 17 inches in diameter on a floured surface.
  8. Spread 2 tablespoons of soft butter on each round and cut into 16 triangles.
  9. Roll each triangle into a crescent shape, tucking the tip under.
  10. Place on a lined baking tray and let rise for about 20 minutes.
  11. Brush the tops with melted butter and preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  12. Bake for 14-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  13. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
