Crock Pot Bourbon Chicken

The chicken and marinade

Instructions
- Mix the soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, bourbon, brown sugar, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Place the chicken in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
- Coat the slow cooker with cooking spray and place the marinated chicken inside. Pour the marinade over the chicken.
- Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or on HIGH for 2 ½ to 3 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Remove the chicken and strain the cooking liquid into a saucepan.
- Whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add it to the saucepan. Heat and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Pour the thickened sauce over the chicken, sprinkle with green onions, and serve with rice.
